VNIIKs misrepresentation of their legal status in Russia

Importan information for Akhal-Teke owners who register their horses with VNIIK or any of their representatives.

Another falsification and fabrication from VNIIK

I hereby send my deep apologies to my Russian colleagues for believing that they had undersigned the letter I refer to in my article “The crisis for the integrity of the Russian Studbook is getting worse” that I published on my website yesterday.
Some of the breeders that had their names signed to the letter have come forward and acknowledged that they had not read the letter published on www.ruhorses.ru prior to the publication and they had not admitted to sign such a letter with their names. Russian translation added March 24.

The crisis for the integrity of the Russian studbook is getting worse.

Read more about the concerns caused by a letter published at www.ruhorses.ru UPDATE March 24, the letter referred to here has been removed from ruhorses.ru after several persons claimed their names had been used to sign the letter without their permission. A copy of the letter, in Russian is therefore added below the article.

VNIIK Corruption and Cameradery part I

I was born free and I live in the greatest democracy in the world. I will never give in to threats against my free life in the USA from a Russian official. Russian version available.

VNIIK Rules & Reality part IV

Errors are made when Akhal-Tekes are inscribed into the general studbook. Incorrect points, gradings and measurements are inscribed into the studbook.

VNIIK Rules & Reality part III

Offspring produced with A.I. from stallions not officially approved and listed by VNIIKfor the year they where used in breeding with A.I. should be removed from the closed section of the studbook and moved to the open section together with the partbreds. Before you breed to an Akhal-Teke stallion available on A.I. make sure he has appropriate licensing from VNIIK. If you are uncertain contac VNIIIK. A Russian translation is added below the English text.

VNIIK Rules & Reality part II

VNIIK is breaking their own rules by inscribing class II Akhal-Tekes into the studbook. The question is of class II horses and their offspring must be excluded from the closed studbook and entered into the open studbook together with the partbreds. Russian translation added below the English version.

VNIIK Rules & Reality part I

This is a series that will look into the rules and realities of the VNIIK maintenance of the Akhal-Teke breed. There are currently great concerns for the integrity of the General Studbook and is management and thereby the assurance that our breed is protected from false pedigrees and foreign blood. Not only is the breed at risk, stakeholders such as myself has been targeted by VNIIK's smearing campaigns for quite some time now. This is proof, that our concerns are real and that we need to take action. Stay tuned if you care.

Selecting an Akhal-Teke stallion for breeding

Breeding Akhal-Tekes is a challenge for many reasons. The biggest obstacles for breeders that have a breeding goal of producing excellence is the small number of horses available in this breed as well as the lack of reliable breed and performance statistics for stallions offered for breeding.

Happy Holidays and a Happy New Teke Year!

The year of 2008 has been a great year for us. We had our first foal since we relocated to Florida, the buckskin colt Artist. The birth of Artist is a dream come true for us as breeders. The history of how this outstanding colt was created is really a nice Christmas story.
