*Orion did not get points as the General Studbook for Purebred Akhal-Tekes is not approved by The Swedish Warmblood Association and therefore a pure bred Akhal-Teke cannot participate officially in the Annual Foal Inspection, however, the Swedish Warmblood Association has agreed on letting Akhal-Tekes of special interest participate in their Foal Inspections, Three-Year-Tests and Quality Tests. However they will neither receive points nor qualify for the National Championships for Swedish Warmbloods.
Akhal-Tekes being judged by the internationally accredited sport horse judges are judged solely as sport horses with the ideal European Warmblood Sport horse as a reference.
The sport horse judges employed by The Swedish Warmblood Association has the highest integrity and will not judge the Akhal-Tekes for breed type as that is not their expertise.
The cooperation between The Swedish Warmblood Association and the Swedish Akhal-Teke Association for evaluation of sport horse traits in the Akhal-Teke breed was inititated and worked out by me during my time as president of the Akhal-Teke Association.
The main reason for my wish to use international sport horse experts evaluating Tekes is that I strongly believe that some Tekes have strong sport horse traits, those Tekes needs to be assessed and the super talents should be trained by professional sport horse trainers to reach their highest potential.
It was with great joy I could show our top quality colt Orion to the sport horse judges before we left Sweden, for me to get the comment “high quality” on a Teke, and a Teke bred by KaraKum, from a sport horse judge felt like the best farewell we could get and the best beginning for Orion as a prospective breeding stallion within the Teke breed.
Orion will also be a very interesting stallion to use for heavier warmblood mares that needs noble and high quality stallions to produce the modern sport horse.   |
