PermaLink Who is best?08/31/2005 08:08 PM

We are blessed with two beautiful sons of our beloved Osman.

They are both from the same dam, Raketa, she gave us Rosanna who is of excellent type, Orion was born in 2004 and has been developing very nicely. We consider him of potential breeding stallion quality.  We showed him as a foal for sport horse evaluation with very good remarks. He has now flaws and a beautiful temperament.
Ailar was born this year and we recently got pictures from him as three months. Ailar wasn't as convincing as newborn as Orion was and he has been back and forth in his development.  Unfortunately we haven't seen Ailar in the flesh yet as he is still in Germany with his mother.
Therefore movements and total overall expression is very difficult to compare.  People that meet and handle him though, tell us that he has a wonderful temperament.
Below are pictures of both as three months old. At the moment it is tempting to keep both but on the other hand forcing yourself to keep only one makes you really work hard on trying to pick the best one. Note that Orion is a little bit in better condition in these pictures than Ailar, probably due to that fact that Orion had access to real good pasture the whole summer and was allowed to move freely 24 hours a day.
I do not know if you agree with me, but with such good horses as these to guys, color doesn't really matter!

I am not an expert horseperson but there is something about the sorrel on the top. He's got a very intelligent look about his eye as he looks at the camera. There's a spark to him that the one below doesn't show in that picture. I really know nothing about the conformation but for some reason, the attitude of the top one to me is just astounding, and I can't get over the intelligent gleam in his eye.
