PermaLink Well done Kristin and Aisona 09/11/2005 05:48 PM

Today Aisona as the first Akhal-Teke ever completed the  Swedish Quality Test.  Big congratulations to rider/handler Kristin and filmer/photographer and assistant/driver Fredrik.

The complete points will be published as soon as I have the protocol in my hands and can make sure that I do not publish anything wrong, shortly I can mention that vet checks went excellent, top points all through for soundness, correctness and health with extra points for exceptional hoof quality. A good indicator for a sound and correct horse in a good training program.

Conformation station went very well;  overall impression a noble a well proportioned horse with a beautiful head. Swedish Warmblood type points was 7 which is good I think, a Teke wouldn't want to be 8 or 9!

Gait test under rider was a little bit of a disappointment to all of us, to a certain extent I think we can blaim the gold!  Among all the warmbloods Aisona draw a lof of attention, as much as Kristin actually lost time for warm up for the riding test, as Aisona is quite far from European Dressage horse type she could have used all the warm up she needed but was a little bit tense and got too short and unbalanced which gave her lower points than she could have had.

Aisona sparkled like this the whole day and even the most critical dressage judges couldn't resist touching her golden coat, they had never seen such quality of hair and color in a horse before.
For Kristin this was the first time out with a golden horse, she will now have to get used to what a magnet such a horse is!   Phot o: Fredrik Horneby

Kristin was complaining, "there where no way we could hide, the sun was out on a clear blue skye the whole day and wherever we went she was sparkling, more people spotted us and came up and wanted to touch her!

Poor, poor warmblood people,  all they see during a day is grey, chestnut and bay ; )

Last station was free jumping where horses are judged for jumping ability/techniqe and temperament/overall impression. Here Aisona felt like a fish in the water, she loves to jump. She got only positive remarks for good jumping ability, good focus and workability and very good hind leg technique.
She scored 7-8 in free jump.

Hi Jessica
I just wish to thank you for all the suport we got this year!
I look forward trying both cross-country as well as showjumping with Aisona next year, and show the swedish warmblood people what an akhal-teke can do!
