Beautiful horses and ugly characters 09/12/2005 04:55 PM
Yesterday our horses where playful and
the sun was out so Todd took out his camera and took a few pictures, mostly
heads though
as no one of our horses where really
in the mood for full body posing. Full bodies mean that also we will have
to bee in the mood, photographing horses takes a lot of time and patience.
I do not know if it is only us but when
we look at the photos of your horses we see our horses in a new way. Amazing.
A photo is really a frozen fraction of a second.
Talking about photos, we have been in
touch with the artist that copied the photo and also with the person that
ordered the copy, according to the artist she was copying the photos under
the impression that the photos had been legally bought and paid for, read
for yourself, below is the replies from artist and agent;
Artist:
"Hi,
Sorry about this , I am not the one
copying the photos. I have a contract with my rights for paintings
with www.thecritterconnection.com
whereas she, the owner Marlena De Gee sends me
the photos and I have to do the paintings... It is a comissioned
artwork . When I talk to her she says she has the rights
for this photos ... that she goes to a website from where she can
do contracts with this rights and that everything is fine.
I never try to copy from photos of
other people , because I use my own photos . You will see in
my website that all the photos that say N/A
down the photo are because they are done for this company...
If you want contact her and tell her
. I have no problem in taking out from my website that painting.
And once again , it is not my pleasure to be called a plageist
, I never try to copy fine work as your husband does
. And I will forward this letter also to Marlena De Gee.
I appreciate taking your time in emailing
me this so that I know and once again I am sorry, if this means
something to you."

Agent:
"I purchased rights to use this photo from a
royalty free stock photo company in 2004. I have the right to have an artwork
commissioned from said picture.
If you continue to harrass my artist, legal action will be taken against
you and your company.
If you continue to attempt to interfere with current or future Ebay auctions,
legal action will be taken against you and your company. I have VERO rights
to work of this artist."
