PermaLink Jason is an English Thoroughbred born 1749 from the sire line Belgrade Turk 10/27/2005 04:40 PM

The painting of him is a very good illustration of the tubular body of the Turkmen horse.

I borrowed this image from www.bloodlines.net that has interesting articles about the foundation sires of the English Thoroughbred. Compare Jason b 1749 to Mangit (b 1995 Gaigysis - Millet - Dagestan Posman line). This type is unique for the Akhal-Teke breed, and no other breed than the Turkmen breed could have given Jason his type in the 18th century. And look at the head of Jason, the what I call "banankopf" that is very typical for the AT breed, that head could only have come from a Turkmen.
