PermaLink Swedish Warmblood stud book is ranked 2nd 03/22/2007 08:54 AM
in dressage by World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses http://www.wbfsh.org/html/ranking/2007/d_breed_0702.pdf

the Swedish horse with individual ranking number 2 has the same grandfather, Alpen-Fürst as our first foal from Almaz, After Eight.
After Eight was a very talented dressage prospect until she had to be put down due to joint problems caused by a rhodococcus infection she got as a foal when she went with her mother to be bred to a warmblood stallion. When she turned four and went into serious training her hind knees had been to injured by the infection she got as a foal.

This incident really taught us a lesson in how vulnerable foals are to infections!

I'd like to especially congratulate Margareta Lundgren owner of Mr G de Lully ranked 12 individually, Margareta is a specialist in horse behaviour at the Swedish University of Agriculture and I have always appreciated her lectures in horse behaviour (she would never call herself a horse whisperer, she it to educated to do that!) , also Margareta is a former "neighbour" to us from Björklinge.

I'm proud of being a Swede today!
