Here is a great comparison between a modern Teke (Daghestan according to stud book 157 cm, according to other measurements 155 cm)

and a drawing (made by Swedish hippologist Bo Furugren) of one of the stallions found in the Pazyryk tomb. Both horses are of small size and elegant build but correct and strong conformation and of high quality. There are some stallions offered for breeding that resembles this type of horse, in the west I would say Almaz, Asman, Astrakhan and Karakaisu I am sure there are more stallions to add to this list.

Laurence, I think the French stallion list is a great service to the mare owners. I went through the list quickly, as far as I can see in from the photos you have a wide range of stallions concerning the quality. Obviously some of them would do better as geldings. Azan and Karakaisu really stand out in the crowd though.
I am wondering though, why for some stallions that have been to the MAAK gradings arranged in France, the results are not published?
A second question, does the Haras Nationaux via the French Association ask stallion owners that offer their stallions to the public for soundness checks?
